General
15.1 Postponements, Abandonments & Shortened Events
15.1.1 If a tournament is shortened due to weather, or for any other reason, the Official Trophy Presentation will govern resulting and settlement of bets for all tournament long markets providing at least 36 holes of a scheduled 72-hole tournament have been completed.
15.1.2 If 36 holes of a 72-hole tournament are not completed then all bets will be void and stakes refunded unless the result of the market has already been determined, for example, bets on 1st Round markets will stand if the 1st Round is completed and the event is abandoned during the 2nd round.
15.1.3 In the event a tournament is cancelled and not rescheduled prior to commencement of the 1st Round all bets will be void and stakes refunded.
15.1.4 In the event a tournament is postponed and rescheduled to take place at a later date all bets will stand provided the tournament is rescheduled to take place in the same calendar year as originally scheduled.
15.2 Play Offs
15.2.1 If 2 or more players are tied on the same score at the completion of the event and a Play-Off is used to determine the winner all markets will be resulted as per the result of the Play-Off unless otherwise explicitly stated.
15.2.2 If at the completion of a tournament 2 or more players are tied on the same lowest score and there is no Play-Off to determine the winner Dead Rules will be applied.
15.3 Dead Heats
15.3.1 There are often multiple players who finish on the same score at the completion of a tournament. For all place betting markets, namely, Top 5 Finish, Top 7 Finish, Top 8 Finish, Top 10 Finish, Top 20 Finish, or any other finishing position tournament market Dead Rules will be applied.
15.3.2 How to calculate dead heat payouts: Number of finishing positions remaining in the nominated market divided by the number of players that have finished on the same score and therefore dead heated/ tied for the finishing position. This number is then multiplied by the original stake and multiplied by the price taken to calculate the final payout.
The odds taken are never affected when calculating dead heat payouts. Only the stake is affected as part of the stake has lost due to the fact more than 1 player(s) have tied for the same position(s)
15.3.3 For example – you place a $15 bet on a player at $6 to finish in the top 10.
At the completion of the tournament 4 players tie for 9th place at 3 under par. The 4 players will be considered to have dead heated for 9th 10th 11th and 12th place.
As there are only 2 positions left to fill the top 10 (9th & 10th) there are an additional 2 positions that must be paid out (11th and 12th place) The dead heat payout calculation therefore is:
The number of finishing positions remaining is 2 (9th & 10th)
The number of players involved in the dead heat is 4
2 divided by 4 = 0.5. This number is then multiplied by the original stake of $15 to determine the dead heat calculation.
0.5 x $15 = $7.50
$7.50 is then multiplied by the original odds taken of $6
$7.50 x $6 = Payout of $42.50
15.4 Team Events (Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup etc.)
15.4.1 If there is a change to the length, format or playing order of the tournament, the following rules may apply to the Ryder Cup or any other form of team-based golf:
15.4.2 If a tournament is played over a shorter format than previously scheduled, bets on the tournament outright winner or outright player markets will be settled on the officially declared result except where no more play takes place after the bet has been struck. However, the following bets will be declared void bets on markets involving correct scores:
- Event handicaps
- individual player points
- Winning margins
15.4.3 Irrespective of any changes to the order of play or format and so long as a result can be determined all bets on correct scores, winning margins, top players, and other markets, based on the conclusion of the tournament, will stand. The exceptions to this rule which will result in bets being void and stakes refunded are:
- No more play takes place after the bet has been struck
- Bets on player total points markets
15.4.4 Bets on a specified session of play, for example Day 1 winner or Saturday fourballs winner will be settled as those ties are played regardless of change in the day, time or order in which play takes place
