Every user on the Dabble app has a profile that includes a 'Username' and a 'Bio'. Your Username and Bio will be visible to all other punters.
Your betting activity, however, will not always be visible to other punters. This will depend on whether your profile is set to Public/Private and whether a specific bet is Visible/Hidden. These are explained further below.
Public vs Private Profile
If your profile is set to Public, any other user on the Dabble app will be able to follow your account and see your visible bets. You cannot decline follow requests, as they are automatically accepted for public profiles.
If your profile is set to Private, other users will only be able to follow your account and see your bets if you accept their request. You have the option to decline any follow request that you receive.
You can change your profile settings anytime:
- Open account settings (click the settings cog from the header or from your profile).
- Tap 'Edit Profile'.
- Scroll to 'Privacy Setting' and pick Public or Private.
Only public profiles are eligible for a Verified Check . Read more about the Verified Check by clicking here.
Visible vs Hidden Bet
Whether your profile is public or private, you always have the option to hide any individual bet.
If a bet is Hidden, it will not be shown anywhere on the app. It will not be visible on your profile, and it will not come up in the feed of other users (even if they follow you).
If a bet is Visible, other punters will be able to see the bet if they navigate to your profile (remember, if your profile is set to private, your bets will only be visible to those users that you have accepted).
To change the visibility of a bet, toggle the button on your profile as shown below:
- Navigate to your profile.
- In the top right-hand corner of any individual bet, there is an Eye symbol.
- If the symbol is green, your bet is visible. If the symbol is grey, your bet is hidden (see below).
- Change the visibility by toggling the button.
